What to expect

Balrath Wood is a peaceful, free-to-visit 20-hectare mixed woodland near Kentstown.

It is a lovely choice for an easy family walk, with woodland trails, picnic tables and small play and climbing activities along the route.

Recent improvement works have cleared and widened sections of the paths that were previously overgrown with brambles.

A horse rocker and a obstacle and the rope climbing net has been replaced.

The improved paths are suitable for most prams.

Allow around one to two hours for your visit, depending on how long the children spend at the activity stops.
