Cookie policy

Family Day Out carries no advertising and sets nothing that follows you to other sites. It does measure visits with Google Analytics, but only if you agree, and nothing from Google is loaded until you do. This is the whole list of what can be stored on your device.
We also keep our own record of whether the search is working, on our own server. That one stores nothing here and sets no cookie, so it is not on this list — the privacy policy describes it in full.

Why you are asked
Under the ePrivacy Regulations consent is needed before storing anything on your device that is not strictly necessary for something you asked for. Analytics is not necessary, so you are asked first and the Google tag is not requested at all until you answer. Saving an idea is something you asked for by tapping the heart, remembering your answer is remembering your own choice: neither needs consent.
Those rules are about your device, which is why our own search-quality record does not appear above and is not gated behind this question: it reads and writes nothing here. It is still personal data under the GDPR, and the privacy policy says exactly what it holds and how to object to it.
Saying no is one button, the same size as saying yes, and you can change your mind at any time above. Nothing is withheld either way: the site works exactly the same.
Other organisations
Some files are fetched by your browser from elsewhere, which lets those organisations see your IP address. They are not cookies, but they are worth knowing about:
- Photographs come from the tourism providers that publish the listings, on EU infrastructure.
- Map tiles come from CARTO and OpenStreetMap, only once you open the map view.
- Google Analytics, but only after you agree. It is provided by Google Ireland Limited and measurement data may be handled outside the EU under Google’s data transfer terms.
- Cloudflare Turnstile is requested only when you create an account or submit a review. It checks technical browser and network signals for automated abuse and normally runs without interruption; a checkbox appears only when another signal is needed. This strictly necessary security check is independent of your analytics choice.
- GetYourGuide, whose partner tag tells them which of our pages led to a booking. Loaded only if you agree to analytics, and never before you answer.
- Impact, Ticketmaster’s affiliate network, and only if you follow a Ticketmaster booking link. It may set its own cookie on its own domain as it forwards you, which is outside this site and governed by their policies. Nothing is set here, and nothing happens unless you click. The privacy policy explains why those links exist and what they do and do not affect.
Typefaces are served from this site, not from Google. Turnstile is not loaded merely because you read a page; it is limited to the two protected forms described above.
Clearing what is stored
Everything above is removed by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings. Removing your saved ideas one at a time is quicker: open your saved ideas and use the heart on any card.
