Dance of the Deer
Participatory arts and movement workshop inspired by Irish wildlife, inviting families to dance with the deer.
What to expect
Dance of the Deer is a participatory arts project by The Acorn Project, created in collaboration with artist Monica Fleming and dancer Shannon Spicer Nash. This immersive experience invites people of all ages to reconnect with the natural world through movement, imagination and shared encounter.
Inspired by Ireland’s native wildlife and ancient forests, audiences are invited to move, observe and “dance with the deer” four‑legged beings whose stories are deeply entwined with our landscapes. Through guided movement and collective participation, the work celebrates biodiversity, interdependence and our responsibility to care for the more‑than‑human world.
Rooted in climate awareness and community action, Dance of the Deer encourages reflection on how we coexist with nature today, while honouring the mammals that once freely roamed our forests.
