TALAMH – Mapping Memory & Place

In this site-responsive drawing workshop, participants are invited to slow down and experience St Canice’s Cathedral and its surroundings through observation, reflection, and imagination. Beginning with a short, observational exploration of the grounds, participants will gather visual inspiration through quick sketches and note-taking.

Participants will then create a longer drawing inside the Cathedral informed by what they observed, as well as the emotional or imaginative responses the space evokes. Prompts may include imagining a historical figure connected to the site, visualising untold stories, or interpreting the atmosphere of the space through expressive drawing.

This workshop is designed to help participants engage more deeply with heritage spaces through creativity while providing a welcoming and pressure-free environment for artistic exploration.

Duration: 2 hours 6+*, This is a great family activity as all abilities are welcomed. Materials provided *Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. participants are asked to please notify the organiser if unable to attend as spaces are very limited and you're spot can be passed on to another.
