What to expect

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the wild Atlantic. Rent a kayak, canoe, or rowboat for an hour in the sheltered Adrigole harbour where a colony of 40 seals has their home. This safe and easy activity is suitable for all ages and abilities and no prior experience is required. You will be provided with appropriate buoyancy equipment and you will be given a short demo on how to paddle and advice on where to go, after which the harbour with its amazing selection of wildlife is yours to discover. All participants are supervised by a qualified instructor and safety cover is provided if needed.

If you’re looking for something more adventurous then why not join an all-inclusive live-aboard adventure sailing trip exploring the incredible wildlife and stunning scenery of the south west coast of Ireland. See the Skellegs up close, watch dolphins bow riding, see whales feeding, watch sea birds diving and then spend your evening anchored in an idyllic cove surrounded by spectacular wildlife while your skipper cooks your dinner. In the morning take a swim off the stern and rinse off with a hot shower before breakfast and then dinghy ashore to a forgotten island exploring the ruins of villages and churches before sailing on to the next anchorage, discovering the delights of the Wild Atlantic on the way. Your skipper is an experienced RYA Ocean Yachtmaster and qualified RYA instructor with Irish Sailing. He has over 60,000 nautical miles sailed, is a marine biologist and also a local tour guide with in-depth knowledge of the area’s antiquity, natural history and heritage. Check the website for dates and rates.

If training is your desire and you wish to be able to handle a boat and be your own skipper or just want to know the basics and how to sail, then check out the website for detailed information on Irish Sailing certified scheduled training courses with Bantry Bay Sailing Club under the training tab.
