What to expect

Dunmore Through a Lens is a multi-screen moving-image and sound installation rooted in Waterford Harbour and the village of Dunmore East. Combining archive photographs, home movies, recorded interviews and newly filmed footage, the project creates a layered portrait of a harbour community shaped by memory, fishing life and ongoing change.

Developed in collaboration with local contributors, the installation draws on personal stories, maritime traditions and everyday village experiences to explore the relationship between people, place and disappearing coastal rhythms. Voices, images and sound drift across multiple projections and surfaces, transforming the harbour environment into an immersive listening and viewing experience.

The work brings together filmmaker Morgan Bushe and Dunmore East visual artist Neil O’Driscoll, whose family connection to the fishing community informs the project’s visual and emotional perspective. Through atmospheric sound design, contemporary footage and archival material, Dunmore Through a Lens offers audiences an intimate and cinematic encounter with the past and present life of Waterford Harbour.

The installation is intended for temporary public presentation in Dunmore East as part of Creative Waterford 2026, with future potential for gallery and touring presentation.
