What to expect

Tireragh Community Support is a Community Employment (CE) scheme based in Kilglass House, Co Sligo, with a focus on biodiversity and education. The project is based within a 13 acre woodland, collaborating with local schools to create artwork in the woods to celebrate Halloween, with CE participants and local TY students dressing up and adding a drama element to the whole experience.
Local schools will compile artwork which we display in our community woodland, along with CE art projects. The schools then visit the woods on the last day of term and take part in the Scary Woods walk, where they can see their artwork on display as well as being immersed in our interactive walk with lots of "hidden surprises" along the way! Around 400 children will attend on that day, an it will be open to the public on Halloween. There will be workshops for schools prior to the event whereby they can learn even more creative skills around producing their artwork, as well as drama workshops for the local TY students who also attend on the day to help provide the interactive surprises in the woodland.
