Beach Bar Surf School

The Beach Bar surf school offer adult lessons, kids lessons and SUP lessons. Equipment is also available for hire, this includes wetsuits, boots and surfboards.

Beginner Lessons Lessons are for children aged 7+ and are 2hrs long with half an hour on the beach and 1.5hrs in the water. All equipment is included, all you need to bring is a towel and a swim suit. You will need to be able to swim however a qualified instructor will be in the water at all times so no great skill is required. There are showers and changing facilities on site.

Camps Kids camps take place suring the summer months of July and August. They last 3hrs a day. At the camps children will learn valuable information about the ocean as well as learning to surf. These usually take place from 10am-1pm. All their surf instructors are ISA (Irish surfing association) qualified and have completed child protection courses and have an extensive knowledge of the beach and surrounding areas so you’re in good hands.

Intermediate lessons Intermediate lessons are also offered if you want to take your surfing to the next level. The school’s instructors have ISA level 2 qualifications so they can help you develop into a more confident and more proficient surfer.

SUP Lessons Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) lessons or hire is also offered. This can be a great way to immerse yourself in the beauty of the surrounding area. Lessons are 2hrs and include all equipment. Groups are limited to 3 people so you will get the instructors undivided attention to ensure you’re safe.

Winter Surf lessons The Beach Bar surf school offers the unique experience of surf lessons during the winter months. Equipment hire is also available during this time just ring to organise a time and price.

The Surf School is located right at the waters edge at Aughris Beach. It is also located right beside the world renowned Beach Bar pub where you can grab a pint and some great food after your exhilarating surf lesson. So whether you are a beginner, experienced, want to get your children into surfing or just looking for a fun activity for the day The Beach Bar surf school has you covered.
