Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships 2026
Watch spectacular hot air balloon launches, enjoy family entertainment, a fireworks display, and market stalls in Boyle.
What to expect
Highlights include Culture Night activities, a balloon launch at Abbey Park, the Courtyard Market, live music, comedy, workshops, cultural performances and a championship fireworks display. Weather permitting, morning and evening balloon flights will take place throughout the week at Lough Key. The programme also includes nightly Balloonist Receptions in venues across Boyle. The championships conclude on 25 September, with festival events continuing on 26 September with An Irish Songbook at King House.
