Inclusive Circus Art Project

The Inclusive Circus Art Project opens up circus arts to children, teenagers, and young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities in County Louth. Delivered in collaboration with professional artists Nicola Moran and Aoibhinn O’Dea , the project provides meaningful creative experiences for neurodivergent young people who may otherwise face barriers to participation.

Through a series of weekly workshops, participants will explore a range of circus disciplines, including movement, balance, coordination activities, juggling, object manipulation, aerial skills, and creative performance. Sessions combine individual and group activities, giving participants the opportunity to develop their creativity independently and alongside others, fostering social connection and a strong sense of belonging.

The programme supports the development of motor skills, coordination, focus, body awareness, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing. It also encourages imagination, creativity, and self‑expression in a safe, nurturing, and fully supportive environment.

The project will conclude with an informal showcase where participants can share their achievements with family, peers, and the wider community. This celebratory event highlights their creativity, boosts confidence, and provides a meaningful sense of pride in all they have accomplished.
