What to expect

Glencar Alpacas farm is nestled in the hillside of Glencar Valley, with beautiful scenery extending across counties Leitrim and Sligo.

Alpacas are very social animals and love human interaction, especially being petted and fed. The guided alpaca walk is peaceful and relaxing, and the farmer talks about taking care of his herd of sheep and alpacas, while also explaining the local history of the land.

Enjoy an alpaca walk with a difference, with plenty of time to get to know these unique and exotic animals. The walk leads you to one of the tallest waterfalls in Ireland, The Devil's Chimney, and to an enchanting mountain side valley called the Swiss Valley. Adults and children over 12 are suitable for walking an alpaca, while younger children may accompany an adult.
