What to expect
See, Saw, Swing is a creative arts project for children aged 7–12 from underserved areas of Galway City, offering immersive, nature-based learning experiences. Developed in response to children’s feedback, the programme combines art and environmental exploration.
Led by artist Lindsay Deely and supported by environmental scientists, the project runs in three phases: local preparatory workshops, a field trip to the Inagh Valley in Connemara for hands-on creative and scientific exploration, and follow-up sessions to complete artworks. Each child creates at least one finished piece.
The project removes barriers by providing transport, materials, and expert guidance, ensuring equal access. Outcomes will be shared in a public exhibition at the 2026 Baboró Festival.
Overall, the initiative supports creativity, confidence, and environmental awareness, while connecting children with nature, their communities, and interdisciplinary learning.
