What to expect
Across the weekend of 11 - 13 September, there will be screenings of John Ford's films, panel discussions and an exhibition to celebrate and educate those on this cinematic giant and his connection to the West of Ireland.
Born John Martin Feeney in Portland, Maine, in 1894, Ford became one of the most important and influential directors of Hollywood's golden age.
Throughout his long career, the spirit and imagery of his west of Ireland roots remained a powerful influence on his work.
Set against the backdrop of Ireland's Atlantic coast, Féile John Ford celebrates not only one of cinema's most influential directors, but also the rich cultural heritage that helped shape his vision.
