Clough Oughter Castle stands alone on a small island in the middle of Lough Oughter, hire a canoe and paddle out to explore the castle.

Enjoy the freedom of kayaking or enlist the help of a guide from Cavan Adventure Centre and steer your way to the island. The flooded drumlin landscape features rich wildlife including whooper swans and great crested grebes. Guided boat tours on the lake are also available, as is stand-up paddleboarding.
