What to expect

In the high season you can book one of the scheduled walks or organise your own custom experience by appointment. Your local expert guide Tony Kirby will take you to locations of outstanding natural beauty in the high Burren. You will trek over large expanses of the rare, glaciated karst landscape with all the classic features such as bare limestone pavements, sinkholes, cave systems and more.

The Burren is also renowned for its rich mix of wild plants including Ireland's native flora with unusual combinations of Arctic, Alpine and Mediterranean species.

Highlights also include megalithic tombs, monastic sites and dry stone walls, which are fascinating examples of the region's very rich archaeological wealth. The hikes feature incisive and entertaining commentaries on the farming, folklore and history of the Burren spanning 6000 years. Moreover, stunning views abound so you will want to bring your camera. Time is abolished and memories are established after a hike on the otherworldly 'crag' with Heart of Burren Walks.
