Athlone Regional Sports Centre

Athlone Regional Sports Centre boasts an extensive variety of exercise and fitness equipment. Their gym overlooks Athlone Town Football Club, and is modern, spacious, and fully air conditioned.

Take your pick of treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, and rowers, or avail of satellite TV with cardio theatre on all C.V. machines. You can work on your lift on the weight training machine and in the extensive free weights area. You can even get a personalised training plan and fitness testing, including body fat testing. There is filtered water onsite and a full library of magazines for when you need to cool down.

In addition to gym equipment, the Athlone Regional Sports Centre also offers a superb 25m, 6 lane, heated swimming pool with a separate children's pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. The swimming pool is open seven days a week all year round. With early morning lane swimming and lunchtime and afternoon sessions, the current timetable has a lot to offer all busy schedules, including evening family swims and adults only sessions. For parents, the crèche allows you to enjoy a swim or a workout while professional childminders look after your little ones.

The centre also has a meeting room available to hire, which overlooks the poolside area. This bright and comfortable space is available during the daytime, evenings, and at weekends.

The all weather pitch is a FIFA recognised, full sized international pitch which can be divided in two. In use by soccer, hockey, rugby, hurling, and Gaelic football teams, the pitch is also hired out by local groups for five and nine a side games. It is floodlit and has a surface that can be played on in any weather condition.

The sports hall is available for hire to sporting clubs and teams. With a wooden sprung floor, it is an ideal space for a wide variety of activities. Children's activities, such as birthday parties, Halloween and Easter celebrations, summer camps, and the acclaimed Athlone Sports Academy (ASA) for kids are all part of the annual calendar of great events.
