The Weavers Cottages, Carlow

Families can explore these restored 17th-century weavers' cottages and see articles and pictures from that time. There is also a heritage garden to visit.

The Weavers Cottages are full of charm and character. The cottages were a 17th century construction for local weavers. Originally there was a row of six cottages which comprised of a pair of semi detached, two bay, single storey dormer cottages with attic conversion. The cottages would have been part of the cottage industry prior to the mechanisation of the craft.

The cottages were used for weaving when the trade was at its height. The cottages now feature many articles and pictures from those times. From time to time the cottages are used for spinning, bread making and crochet demonstrations. They are also used for evenings of story telling, music, song and dance. There is a beautiful heritage garden at the back. Why not call in and explore these beautifully restored Weavers Cottages.
