Slieveardagh Heritage Centre
This heritage centre is in an old church and tells the stories of the Slieveardagh area, including its coal mining history and the Young Irelanders. There is also a library and an exhibition about Derrynaflan.
The Slieveardagh Heritage Centre in Killenaule, County Tipperary, is located in a former church which was built between 1838 and 1840 on the site of an older medieval church. There are three bay nave elevations and a pitched entrance porch to the west with an added lean to extension. Closed as a church in 1991, the building is now in use as a local heritage centre. The centre tells the interesting stories of the area, which has had a varied and chequered past ranging from coal mining, to the Young Irelanders of the mid 19th century.
The centre also houses the local library. It has a Derrynaflan exhibition and provides internet access for the public.
