Families can try Nordic walking, a full-body workout, with qualified instructors. Choose from a taster session and short walk, or a power hike. Guided walks without poles are also an option. Refreshments are included.
Nordic walking is a fast growing activity worldwide. Originally designed as a summer training routine for cross country skiers, it provides a whole body workout.
Qualified instructors Joanne and Tony brought Nordic walking to Clare as a holiday activity in 2017. Since this time it has gained popularity with both holiday makers and locals.
There is a choice of several experiences. These range from a 2 hour taster session learning the basics followed by a short walk to Dysert Monastery, to power hiking in The Burren. If you prefer to walk without poles then choose a guided walk of the area or join a social or health walk.
All experiences include refreshments in the gardens of Burkedale House.
