Racing in Tramore, County Waterford, began in 1785 and was originally held on the beach. Always at the mercy of the elements however, the course was badly breached in 1911 and racing was moved to an alternative, safer, venue at Graun Hill in Tramore, County Waterford, where racing continues to be enjoyed to this day.

The 4 day August Festival is the highlight of the racing calendar at Waterford & Tramore Racecourse, with a mix of flat and jump races. This 4 day extravaganza of thrilling races, style and socialising, buzzes with the energy and liveliness that comes from a crowd having fun.
