The O’Carolan Harp Festival & Summer School began in Keadue in1978 to commemorate Turlough O Carolan (1670-1738), the last of the Irish Bards. One of the longest running festivals in Ireland, the community-organised events run for 8 days, always ending on the first Monday in August.
