Killoughternane, Carlow

Also known as the White Church, the oratory at Killoughternane was established in the 10th century on the land where St Fortchern founded a church 500 years earlier. The ruin is simple and roofless and is located just 7km from Bagenalstown in County Carlow. The oratory is small, measuring 5.5m long and 3.5m wide. It features a rectangular baptismal font in the northeast corner. Close by is Killoughternane Well.
