Lough Hyne
Families can drive to Lough Hyne to see the views, have a picnic, or take a walk on the trail to see the lough from above and explore some old ruins and holy wells.
Only 5km southwest of the busy town of Skibbereen, Lough Hyne is Ireland's first Marine Nature Reserve.
Park up and enjoy the landscape from the comfort of your car, or take a short stroll, sit at one of the available picnic tables and immerse yourself in the environment.
If you fancy seeing more, walk the nearby natural trail which offers elevated views of the lough, as well as a number of historic ruins and holy wells.
