Clare Museum opened in the year 2000 and is located in a former Sisters of Mercy convent building in Ennis, built in 1854. The exhibition is on two floors and includes archaeological objects on loan from the National Museum of Ireland and historical objects with an authentic connection to Eamon de Valera and Daniel O'Connell, who both began their political careers in County Clare.
